Don't know Jack
Sometimes I feel I am a jack of all trades and master ( mistress?) of none. As I wander around the house UFO (UnFinished Objects) sightings are frequent and too numerous to list. Uncompleted knitting...abandoned scrapbooks...half painted living room...etc. It's easy to blame it on children. "I don't have any energy left." "There's no time." But, perhaps it is just my lack of enthusiasm or the winter doldrums. So I piddle. Do a little of this. A little of that. Then sit to have a cup of tea before naptime has run its course.

I think that is the story of every full-time parent with small children. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when the laundry is put away, for instance, even though there are mountains more in the basement, just waiting. A cup of tea finished, though, that can be counted as an accomplishment, too--surely not less important (more important, actually) than a painted room!
Wait, I don't remember posting...sigh...I could have written that. Half-painted entryway. Where is that knitting, anyway? It's time to reboot the washer for this weeks load, and what is this? I have not folded last weeks clothes. (And after admonishing my children to fold before playing!) We are guilty of fishing from the baskets for clean unders. I can so, so relate to that wintertime lack of motivation.
However, I did clean the kitchen sink and one bathroom today, walk the doggie who lives down the street and school the kids and read.
Alas, I feel your pain! I keep thinking that at some point I will have the daily things done and have a few spare minutes for working on a project. Unfortunately, that "spare time" is when a catastrophe occurs, which requires the remainder of the day to fix. But then again, I have been making it more of a priority to play with my girls than do other stuff, so dancing to the soundtrack from Stand By Me took an hour this AM (played it twice), but was oh, so fun!
