APRICOTS

Thankfully, no "Little House on the Prairie" disasters occurred with my beautiful apricots as I waited for them to ripen. We did watch deer, groundhogs, and rabbits enjoy some of the windfall. With the help of my Mother-in-law, I got some canned and made some into jam. We also have been enjoying a huge apricot cobbler for dessert for the past few days, and have had many to eat fresh. Hooray for home grown produce!

How pretty! And tasty too, I'll bet. How did you all fare through that nasty storm tonight?

Our place was a bit of a mess, but nothing really terrible. Too bad you missed potluck tonight--it was terribly exciting--we braved the storm in one big group, huddled in the pavilion--tree branches blowing down, rain in sheets around us (and on us), the wind and thunder so loud we pretty much had to yell to hear each other. Good times. A memorable potluck, all in all.

We were driving to the Univ. during the storm...had to pull over as I couldn't see and there was a river (complete with rapids) running down the street through Waynesburg! Were able to sit in the van until it died to a trickle, and still make the concert on time. It was very interesting and enjoyable, though J may give you a different story...hour 2 became a bit much for her and my Mom-in-law!
