Fruit of the Season

The apricots, which we've never had the opportunity to harvest
here, are looking luscious on the tree...not quite ripe, but SOON!

We picked these sweet babies on the way up the hill from the mailbox this afternoon.

You know what happens when Pa leaves the wheat to get just that little bit more ripe. DISASTER! I hope nothing astronomically unbelievable happens to those luscious apricots.

More about the fireplace mantle???

Blackberries are ripe already? Anyone know a good picking spot, with bees and thorns and enough blackberries for JAM?? Only wasp sting I ever received was from a blackberry patch in Georgia. . .good times.

We are taking the solid oak slab from this fireplace mantel, as we have plans for it in the new house. My Dad built a replacement, but needs sanding and staining...my job.

Our blackberries here are not yet ripe. These are black raspberries, but the sweetest, juiciest ones I've picked here...got another 3 pints yesterday! There is a farm around here, Black Cat Farm, with U-pick black raspberries...I need to check it out!
